News: The Dowling Poole to release new album
General February 28th sees the release of 'See You See Me', the third album from eclecto-pop masters, The Dowling Poole. The album follows the release of three singles - 'Keeping The Stupid Stupid’, ‘Made In Heaven’ and ‘Hope’ which also has an accompanying video.

"I guess 'Hope' might be best described as a modern day take on Stoicism”, says Willie Dowling. “After a tumultuous four years and more of earth-shaking world events, following in ever-quickening succession, it occurred to us that it isn’t the disasters and uncertainty that cause despair, so much as the hope that intermittently promises something better, before deserting the scene and hurling us all back into a storm of uncertainty.”

News: Pure Reason Revolution launch Silent Genesis from forthcoming album ‘Eupnea’
Progressive Rock Pure Reason Revolution recently announced the release of ‘Eupnea’, their first new studio album in nearly 10 years, for the 3rd of April 2020. Today they are excited to reveal the first piece of new music taken from the record, in the form of the epic 10-minute ‘Silent Genesis’, a track which Jon Courtney co-wrote alongside original PRR member Greg Jong.

The band comments: “With some tracks it’s blood sweat & tears to get them nailed, but “Silent Genesis” came together really quickly. While Greg & I worked on the music, Chloe was blasting out vocals in London. We had a lot of fun making this track; mangling synths, riffing & unexpectedly outroing with funk!”

Concerts: Electric Mary, Edinburgh Bannerman’s, 4th November 2019
                        Concert Reviews

Twenty one hours across two days is how long it took Australia’s Electric Mary to arrive in Scotland from their homeland on the other side of the planet. However, so delighted were the groove masters who play ‘rock n’ roll the way it used to taste’ to be performing for a small but enthusiastic Scottish audience that not one ounce of road weariness, travel sickness or jet lag weighed into what proved to be a scintillating performance. Steven Reid plugged himself into the mains for Sea of Tranquility…

There’s no disguising the fact that Electric Mary came a long way to perform their first ever Scottish date for the disappointingly low tally of around forty folk, but what this no nonsense old school act served up was a show deserving of a venue ten times the size of the one they found themselves in and with a crowd to match. The band’s stalwarts, vocalist Rusty Brown and guitarist Pete Robinson, simply seemed thankful that anyone had turned up at all on what was a cold, wet and windy night and then set about digging grooves so deep that it’s a wonder that Electric Mary didn’t use them to burrow right through the Earth’s core to Scotland!

Interviews: Electric Mary - interview - Video for “It’s Alright” - Tour
General Following the recent announcement of the upcoming European segment of their ‘Gimme Love’ worldwide tour, Melbourne’s most explosive classic rock quintet ELECTRIC MARY have released a brand new music video for their latest single, ‘It’s Alright’! Taken from their fourth studio album ‘Mother’, which was released in February of this year via Listenable Records, ELECTRIC MARY’s latest single release is a gospel laden chant for the future with a heavy rock groove from the past. Simultaneously, ‘It’s Alright’ carries an important message of hope for the downtrodden…

ELECTRIC MARY’s ‘Gimme Love’ tour will bring the band back to Europe for the first time in three years, celebrating their latest studio release ‘Mother’ - an album that received high praise upon release from the likes of Classic Rock, Planet Rock and Fireworks Magazine. The Tour also sees the band sharing stages with rock legends Y&T and Skid Row.

And singer Rusty Brown spoke to Sea of Tranquility’s Steven Reid to tell us more…

Concerts: S.O.T.O., StOp sToP, Scarlet Aura; Edinburgh 4th September 2019
                        Concert Reviews

With three albums under their belt S.O.T.O., the band led by singer Jeff Scott Soto who you might know from Sons Of Apollo, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, W.E.T, Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey (I could go on…) are now a fully established outfit and one keen to stand on their own two feet, rather than the extensive catalogue of their frontman. Tonight in Edinburgh they were joined by the eclectic blend of Bulgarian classic/power metal quartet Scarlet Aura and the tongue (and much else) in cheek party sleaze rock of StOp sToP, who hail from Barcelonigham…. or maybe not. Something for everyone? Sea of Tranquility’s Steven Reid was there to find out.
